A meditation retreat surely offers great benefits, as it encourages the development of moment-to-moment mindfulness over a period of time. However, this training requires sustained practice and a certain stability of psychological health. Therefore, if you have recently experienced a traumatic event, have been diagnosed with a psychiatric illness, or are currently experiencing states of serious depression or anxiety, this may not be the best time for you to participate in a retreat. An intensive meditation retreat requires psychological balance and resilience, so please keep this is mind before signing up for a retreat. If you are followed by a mental health professional, it’s advisable to discuss this with him/her. You may also want to contact our office at This email address is being protected from spambots.
